Doug Krogman
was raised, along with his six siblings, on his family's ranch just west
of White River, South Dakota. He married his high school sweetheart,
Naomi, and has lived in Wyoming for the past thirty-six years.
Doug started painting as a hobby over forty years ago. Although he has
captured a variety of images, from wildlife to family portraits, his
specialty springs from his heart and home place: western.
Doug's father Clarence, who turned 101 in 2011, as well as his brothers
Richard, Cliff, and Blaine, still live on, and run, the family ranch,
raising cattle and quarter horses. Conveniently, Doug is easily
inspired by the images from "back home" and has captured a multitude of
photographs which have become springboards for several paintings. A
storyteller at heart, Doug captures moments in time from the rural west
and masterfully translates them into works of art.
